1967 Cliff Richard tells NME that after 43 hits he's retiring from show business to teach religious instruction in secondary schools,

1968 Cream debut on US chart with Sunshine of Your Love. Their biggest American hit, it peaks at No. 5.

1968 Dr. K.C. Pollack of the University of Florida reports that tests have found that the noise generated at rock & roll concerts is harmful to hearing.
